Bearing more than a passing resemblance to another of my heroes, BBC's John Peel, I met Keith back in the mid 1990's when he was Business Manager for one of my clients, Eastern Deanery. The Deaneries are NHS-funded organisations responsible for the continuing postgraduate education of Medical & Dental Professionals in the UK.
Keith and I shared interests in music, technology and toys. Consequently we collaborated on several professional & personal projects. Keith was a good foil to my inherent nerdiness because he was always concerned with making projects usable. Keith has a truly eclectic background too. Firstly, he used to sell used cars - working for himself in the motor trade. So you know you can trust him! :-) He's also been the antiques and furniture business. But don't be fooled by this 'Arthur Daly meets Lovejoy' persona he likes to adopt. During his time with the NHS he trained in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. After a long period of intensive study, he qualified to masters level. He now works for the local PCT working with GP patients and managing the counselling service as a whole. He also works as a therapist at the Yarlswood Immigration Detention Centre whree he tries to help people cope with their incarceration. He also has a thriving private practce incprporating EFT (Emotional Freedom technique) with amazing success. - Please click here to see pictures of Keith, taken at his daughters wedding, 2003-12-06.
