Walking in Applewood Gardens

by Jonathan Day

Walking in Applewood Gardens
Looking for the house she is in.
The girl next door
Is doing her magical thing.

Whatever actions she makes
The spell is cast the same.
God built the world in Seven days
She does it again and again and again.

Fooling around in my head
We are together once more
A dream that I play out
A safety net if I fall.

I Am Serpent
The bearer of man's ill will
Blame, Beat me
But it is not I who kill's.

I Am Bear
Of courage, strength, might.
Track me, hunt me
For a moment of delight.

I Am Lion
King of my domain
Though not for long.
Ignore my claim.

I Am Monkey
A Caricature
But my soul is clean.
is yours?

I Am You
And I Am lost
You Have Forgotten Me
But At What Cost?

I Am Self Reflection
A Collection of Words
But Ignore Me
Know that I am not Heard.

I Am Guilt
And I'm No Longer Here
In the Maze of deception
I have dissappeared.

I Am Forgiveness
And you are too late
There will be no way in
At this or any other gate.
