Welcome to the autumn edition of the New Millennium.

Already the nights are drawing in and the check in queues for holiday HOT fade into memory. Alas. Hope you all found your summer. The British posted theirs as a missing season. From June onwards we have suffered from torrential rains, winds and general dankness. While in Europe we learnt our continental cousins were suffering from high temperatures and sun filled skies. One of the few occasions however, when the grass is definitely not greener on the other side.

Here, we have Anita's fashion page packed with Winter Style and a photo-shoot featuring Cuba. Southampton's football team is performing so badly this season (yet to score) that Simon Dunkley has taken time out with nervous exhaustion. But he promises to return with the first goal from the Dell. Generally the atmosphere in the UK is muted at the moment. The nation watches the surreal behaviour of the U.S Government and worries about the collapse of the Russian and Far East economies. We, at the New Millennium were particularly saddened to learn that Hong Kong is now officially in recession as their figures showed minus figures for the past two quarters. After the confidence of the Hong Kong business world in April 1997 its hard to believe the energy and vitality of the former colony has apparently almost overnight.

The 1st anniversary of Diana's death is being played down. The media seemingly embarassed by the excess of emotion last year. So if you do want to remember the princess this month - the key is white flowers such as Lilies and Roses. Display them in glass/crystal vases. Plant white tulips and fresias for the spring which is not so far away after all.
