Handreading has been used for centuries for gaining insight into a person's character and situation in life. Hands are vitally important for translating ideas into action. Imagining going through a day with your hands tied behind your back.
Getting out of bed would be pretty difficult, yet alone brushing teeth and having breakfast! That's just for starters, what about getting through the rest of the day? Could you get any work done? Since hands are so essential to our everyday existence, it is hardly surprising that their form and structure should intimately reflect our lives.
Each hand has its own unique pattern of palmar lines. Why don't you compare the lines on your own hand to the palm of your partner, friend or work mate and see for yourself? What do the lines on your own palm show? Each line reflects a different aspect of our lives. The names and typical positions of the palmar lines are shown in diagram-The Palmar Lines.
The general correlations of the most important lines are described as follows:
The Venus or Vitality Line
The Venus line reflects a person's physical constitution, their health and vitality and the influence of their family. It also reflects
their ability to express love, capacity to earn money and derive security.
The Mars or Temper Line
The Mars line reflects a person's physical strength, their resistance to illness, their drives and sexual potency.
The Jupiter or Heart Line
The Jupiter line reflects a person's emotionality, their ability to express feelings and share them with others.
The Saturn or Fate Line
The Saturn line reflects a person's application and concentration to their work or career and achievement of success in life.
Whether or not they can hold down a job and accept responsibility.
The Mercury or Head Line
The Mercury line reflects a person's thoughts, ideas and ability to communicate. It also reflects their capacity to make plans
and take decisions.
The Sun or Apollo Line
The Sun line reflects creative expression, the brilliance of their talents and the fame and fortune derived through them.
The Uranus line or Health Line
The Uranus line reflects a person's business sense, health, intuition and inventiveness.
An essential part of the skill to reading hands lies in visualising the lines as flows of energy. Ideally a line should have a good length, be clearly formed and free from markings. Whenever a well-formed line is present on the palm it indicates that the corresponding area of a person's life is functioning soundly. For example, a clear Mercury line indicates someone who is good at communication.
By contrast markings, such as islands, chains, bars, crosses, breaks and forks, all show interruption to the energy flow. For example a Mercury line with several islands indicates someone who is uncertain and has difficulty in communicating their ideas. Markings are often descriptive of particular experiences and can be timed coinciding with specific events in a person's life.
