It's a normal day in the life of a travel bookshop owner. William is depressed when his profits are in fact losses so to cheer him up is friend and co worker goes across the street to get him a cappuccino when William's life changes forever!

The Travel Book Shop has a famous visitor in the shape if Ms. Scott the well-known film actress. William pays little attention to this small fact. All he can see is a beautiful woman who at first sight falls for her. William (in a typical Hugh Grant impish way) gets tongue-tied. In is desperate desire to talk to her he sees another customer trying to steal a book. More concerned with this he confronts him to retrieve the book.

Due to a mishap with pleasurable consciences for William Ms. Scott now ends up on the other side of (now famous) blue door. At there parting William is heard to say "nice to have met you surreal, but nice" and stands mouth open in complete disbelief of what he has just said.

From this point onwards the films pace really gets going well not in a fast sense of pace, but it's where all the fun begins. From a birthday party to a race against time is everything against him? Has William lost the girl of his dreams? Well we are not telling you will have to go and see for yourselves.

Despite reminiscences of another very British film (four weddings and a funeral)  its well worth going to see just for the antics of the flat mate. It is also in its own right a fun film to watch:  you're never bored,  we never asked when is it going to finish and one of us is not a Hugh Grant fan.

We give it 7/10
