(After being told my boyfriend had been seeing someone else.)

As I lay in my bed, trying to sleep,

Pictures flick through my head, and I begin to weep.

They’re of you and her, sharing a laugh and a meal,

Oh how long will it be, before this pain starts to heal?

You tell me you love me, I should forgive and forget,

But that’s not easy to do if it happened to you, you would know that.

You held me close, and whispered you loved me,

Tried to lay the ghost that was hovering above me,

I told you I loved you. That it was alright,

Felt secure in your arms, as you held me tight.

But now I’m alone, my eyes fill with tears,

I should think of the good things

We’ve done through the years,

But that’s not easy to do, if it happened to you, you would know that.

You say its all over, there was nothing in it,

I should try to forget
