(About the frustrations of looking for a job, aimed at employers!)

Waiting,

Still waiting.

As another letter falls on the floor.

A rejection,

Again.

How many times will I hear these words,

"We regret to inform you…."

"I’m sorry to say…."

Why for once can’t I read?

"I would be pleased to see you…."

"Your interview is…."

Or better still-

"It’s yours!"

How many letters do I have to write?

How many adverts do I have to answer?

And please,

Tell me how I am to gain

"Experience!"

(How I hate that word!)

If no one is willing to give me a chance,

To learn?

Is there somewhere a species of man

Actually born with experience,

In bred,

Or programmed

By computers,

Microchips in their brains!

What’s more important?

The willingness to work hard,

To learn something new?

To try?

Or

Just to do something that’s second nature,

No challenge

No interest!

Just once I’d love to do it,

To conquer!

Surely everyone starts at the beginning!

Even you!
