The poem was not complete.
It did not rhyme.
And told no story.
It lacked in
Subject matter.
Could not even be
Called New Age
Or modern art.
It could be understood
Only because it
Had
Nothing to say.
But what if the reader
Not the poet was at
Fault.
What of the messages
Between the lines ?
" Go fetch them. "
Says the poem.
" Complete this poem
For yourself.
Let it be
Exactly what you want :
A lovers poem ;
A friends poem ;
A war cry ;
A pacifist's speech ;
An example of bad Grammar.
Let it not lie empty
But fill it yourself.
What we have here
Is a poem for all occasions.
To each his own :
