Just as Saints fans thought they could sleep easy in their beds, The Dell has been rocked by the news that their saviour manager Graeme Souness has left. McMenemy who could not see his protégé treated so badly swiftly followed him. The new management committee (sounds a failure already - The Typist) told Graeme that he could not spend any more than £2M next season. Appalled by this pittance Graeme packed his bags and left for 'abroad' where (allegedly) hundreds of football clubs are ready to sign him up.

Meanwhile Saints fans are left pining at the gate and scribbling messages to the committee. 'Bring back Souness!' The Southampton Independent Saints Association passed an official vote of no confidence in the management and the only person who seems to be happy is Matt-le Tissier who was offered £60,000 per month(!) to stay with the club. Apparently he has no plans to leave. (Well quite. What did he do last season exactly? - The Typist).

So watch this space for update.
