The Leading Man

This film is set in London and one thing that strikes you almost immediately is that its a very British movie.

The film is a play within the film and a love affair in both. - and yes, it can get confusing. But what the hell! I'd say it's true to life in a strange way. Grange (Jon Bon Jovi) is an actor with the lead role in the play. He is also a womanizer and he does it with style.

It starts with casting the play. A wannabe actress and the lead role are cast for two reasons.

The Alex's wife finds out and takes revenge by cutting everything in sight. Then robin talks to Alex and suggests he has an affair with Eleanor. This is when things start to get interesting as not only does he have an affair with Eleanor but he also tries to seduce his co-star, the wannabe.

In the play, Robin has been stereotyped as the typical American gangster" but he has morals. He's the rock star meeting men in black. Robin likes to play devil advocate.

The film itself is a very sexy one. It moves at a moderate pace. Lots of cliches built in though. Shakespeare's expression “What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.” leaps to mind…

Over all and being as totally unbiased as a life-long Bon Jovi fan can be, I give it 7/10.
